The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will close the Alaskan Way Viaduct permanently on January 11, 2019. Three weeks later, the new SR99 waterfront tunnel will open. During the three weeks with no SR99 through downtown and the new circulation impacts afterwards, there will be significant impacts to commuters traveling through Seattle and within the region. Increased travel times are expected on major routes in the Seattle area, particularly during peak commute times. As a Seattle employer, your action is needed to alleviate traffic congestion and reduce commute times for those who work in our city.
